What you will see

Most likely causes, in order

Listed from the most common and cheapest to check, to the least common and most expensive. Work down the list — do not jump to the last item because it is the one that sounds serious.

  1. Pressure sensor (on the ACU) failed
  2. Pressure hose from the tub to the sensor is kinked, disconnected, or full of water
  3. Air Dome clogged with detergent residue

Safe checks you can do

Before you start: This code reports an internal fault. The checks below are limited to power-cycling and confirming your model number — do not open the cabinet.
  1. Check that the drain hose is not pushed too far into the standpipe — a siphoning drain can confuse level sensing.
  2. Make sure the washer is level and all four feet are solid on the floor.
  3. Clear the code once with POWER and run a single Rinse & Spin to see if it returns.

When to call a technician

The code returns after one rinse cycle. The pressure sensor path is internal.

Also call if you see or smell burning, if the breaker trips when the washer starts, or if water has reached any electrical part. Those are stop-now conditions, not check-it-later conditions.
