Most likely causes, in order
Listed from the most common and cheapest to check, to the least common and most expensive. Work down the list — do not jump to the last item because it is the one that sounds serious.
- A momentary communication glitch, often after a power flicker
- Loose harness connector between the UI and the ACU
- Moisture in the control area
Safe checks you can do
- Unplug the washer, or switch the breaker off.
- Leave it unpowered for a full 5 minutes so the boards fully discharge.
- Restore power and check whether the display comes up clean.
- Run one short cycle to confirm the code does not return.
When to call a technician
The code persists after a full 5-minute power-down. The harness or a board needs service.
Also call if you see or smell burning, if the breaker trips when the washer starts, or if water has reached any electrical part. Those are stop-now conditions, not check-it-later conditions.
