What you will see

Most likely causes, in order

Listed from the most common and cheapest to check, to the least common and most expensive. Work down the list — do not jump to the last item because it is the one that sounds serious.

  1. Power interruption during a cycle
  2. Loose UI-to-ACU harness
  3. Control board not finishing its startup handshake

Safe checks you can do

Before you start: unplug the appliance and shut off the water supply. Do not open panels that expose mains wiring. Anything involving gas, 240 V circuits or the sealed refrigerant system must be done by a licensed technician.
  1. Cut power at the breaker for 5 minutes.
  2. Restore power and watch the display during the first 30 seconds.
  3. If the panel comes up clean, run a Rinse & Spin to verify.

When to call a technician

The code survives the 5-minute power-down, or the display never comes back.

Also call if you see or smell burning, if the breaker trips when the washer starts, or if water has reached any electrical part. Those are stop-now conditions, not check-it-later conditions.
